“And if you divorce them before you have touched them, and you have appointed unto them the Mahr, then pay half of that (Mahr)…”

✦ Al Quran: *“And if you divorce them before you have touched (had a sexual relation with) them, and you have appointed unto them the Mahr (bridal-money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), then pay half of that (Mahr), unless they (the women) agree to forego it, or he (the husband), in whose hands is the marriage tie, agrees to forego and give her full appointed Mahr. And to forego and give (her the full Mahr) is nearer to At-Taqwa (piety, righteousness). And do not forget liberality between yourselves. Truly, Allah is All-Seer of what you do”.* [Al Quran, Surah Baqarah (2), 237]

القران: *"ور اگر تم عورتوں کو ان کے پاس جانے سے پہلے طلاق دے دو، لیکن مہر مقرر کرچکے ہو تو آدھا مہر دینا ہوگا، ہاں اگر عورتیں مہر بخش دیں، یا مرد جن کے ہاتھ میں عقد نکاح ہے (اپنا حق) چھوڑ دیں (اور پورا مہر دے دیں تو ان کو اختیار ہے)۔ اور اگر تم مرد لوگ ہ اپنا حق چھوڑ دو تو یہ پرہیزگاری کی بات ہے۔ اور آپس میں بھلائی کرنے کو فراموش نہ کرنا۔ کچھ شک نہیں کہ الله تمہارے سب کاموں کو دیکھ رہا ہے۔"* _القران، سورة البقرة ٢، آیت ٢٣٧_

✦ Al Quran: *“Aur agar tum aurton ko unke paas jaane se pehle Talaq de do, aur mahar muqarrar kar chuke ho to aadha mahar dena hoga, haan agar aurtein mahar bakhsh dein, ya mard jinke haath mein nikah ka aqad hai, (apna haq) chorh dein (aur pura mahar dein to unko ikhtiyar hai). Aur mard log apna haq chorh dein to yeh unke liye parhezgari ki baat hai. Aur aapas mein bhalayee karne ko faraamosh na karna. Beshak, Allah tumhare sab kaamo ko dekh raha hai”.* [Al Quran, Surah Baqara (2), 237]

✦ अल क़ुरआन: *“ और अगर तुम औरतों को उनके पास जाने से पहले तलाक़ दे दो, और महर मुक़र्रर कर चुके हो तो आधा महर देना होगा, हाँ अगर औरतें महर बख़्श दें, या मर्द जिनके हाथ में निकाह का अक़द है, (अपना हक़) छोड़ दें (और पूरा महर दें तो उनको इखतियार है) । और मर्द लोग अपना हक़ छोड़ दें तो ये उनके लिए परहेज़गारी की बात है । और आपस में भलाई करने को फरामोश ना करना । बेशक, अल्लाह तुम्हारे सब कामो को देख रहा है ।“* [अल क़ुरआन, सुरह बक़रा (2), 237]
