★ Mafhoom-e-Hadith: *“What is backbiting?”*


•┈┈┈┈••✦✿✦••┈┈┈┈•


► Hadiths (English):

✦ Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ peace be upon him) said - *“Do you know what is backbiting?”* They (the Companions) said - *“Allah and His Messenger know best”.* Thereupon, he Muhammad (ﷺ peace be upon him) said - *“Backbiting implies your talking about your brother in a manner which he does not like”.* It was asked to him - *“What is your opinion about this, that if I actually find (that failing) in my brother which I made a mention of?”* He, Muhammad (ﷺ peace be upon him) said - *“If (that failing) is actually found (in him) what you assert, you in fact backbited him, and if that is not in him it is a slander”.* [Sahih Muslim, Book 32, 6265]


✦ Narrated Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ peace be upon him) said - *“The tale-bearer (a person who spreads gossip, secrets that may cause trouble or harm) shall not enter Paradise”.* [Sahih Muslim, Book 1, 189]

حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول الله محمدﷺ نے فرمایا: *"کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ غیبت کیا ہے؟"* انہوں ( صحابہ) نے عرض کی: *"الله اور اس کا رسول خوب جاننے والے ہیں"۔* آپ محمدﷺ نے فرمایا: *"اپنے بھائی کا اس طرح تذکرہ کرنا جو اسے ناپسند ہو"۔* عرض کی گئی: *"آپ یہ دیکھئے کہ اگر میرے بھائی میں وہ بات واقعی موجود ہو جو میں کہتا ہوں ( تو؟)"۔* آپ محمدﷺ نے فرمایا: *"جو کچھ تم کہتے ہو، اگر اس میں موجود ہے تو تم نے اس کی غیبت کی، اگر اس میں وہ (عیب) موجود نہیں تو تم نے اس پر بہتان لگایا ہے"۔* _صحیح مسلم، جلد ۶، ۶۵۹۳_


حضرت حذیفہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول الله محمدﷺ نے فرمایا: *"چغل خور (غیبت کرنے والا) جنت میں داخل نہ ہو گا"۔* _صحیح مسلم، جلد ۱، ۲۹۰_

► Hadiths (Roman Urdu):

✦ Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) se rivayat hai ki Rasool-Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) ne farmaya - *“Tum jaante ho geebat kya hai?”* Logo (Sahaba) ne kaha - *“Allah aur Uske Rasool (Muhammad ﷺ sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) hi khoob jaante hain?”* Aap, Muhammad (ﷺ sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) ne farmaya - *“Geebat yeh hai ki tum apne bhai ka zikr is tarah karo ki (agar woh saamne hota to) usko bura lagta”.* Logo (Sahaba) ne kaha - *"Ya Rasool-Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ sallAllahu alaihi wasallam), agar hamare bhai mein woh aib (buraayi / kami) moujud ho to?”* Aap Muhammad (ﷺ sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) ne farmaya - *“(Aib moujud ho) woh hi to geebat hai, agar usmein woh moujud na ho to woh bohtaan hai”.* [Sahih Muslim, Jild 6, 6593]


✦ Hazrat Huzaifa (radi Allahu anhu) se rivayat hai ki Rasool-Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) ne farmaya - *“Chugalkhor (geebat karne wala) Jannat mein nahin jaayega”.* [Sahih Muslim, Jild 1, 290]

► अहादीस / हदीसें (हिंदी):

✦ हज़रत अबू हुरैराह (रदी अल्लाहू अन्हु) से रिवायत है की रसूल-अल्लाह, मुहम्मद (ﷺ सलअल्लाहू अलैही वसल्लम) ने फरमाया - *“तुम जानते हो गीबत क्या है?”* लोगो (सहाबा) ने कहा - *“अल्लाह और उसके रसूल (मुहम्मद ﷺ सलअल्लाहू अलैही वसल्लम) ही खूब जानते हैं ।"* आप, मुहम्मद (ﷺ सलअल्लाहू अलैही वसल्लम) ने फरमाया - *“गीबत ये है की तू अपने भाई का ज़िक्र इस तरह करे की (अगर वो सामने होता तो) उसको बुरा लगता ।"* लोगो सहाबा) ने कहा - *“या रसूल-अल्लाह, मुहम्मद (ﷺ सलअल्लाहू अलैही वसल्लम), अगर हमारे भाई में वो ऐब (बुराई / कमी) मोजूद हो तो?”* आप, मुहम्मद (ﷺ सलअल्लाहू अलैही वसल्लम) ने फरमाया - *(ऐब मोजूद हो) “वो ही तो गीबत है, अगर उसमें वो मोजूद ना हो तो वो बोहतान है ।"* [सही मुस्लिम, जिल्द 6, 6593]


✦ हज़रत हुज़ैफा (रदी अल्लाहू अन्हु) से रिवायत है की रसूल-अल्लाह, मुहम्मद (ﷺ सलअल्लाहू अलैही वसल्लम) ने फरमाया - *“चुगलखोर (गीबत करने वाला) जन्नत में नही जाएगा ।"* [सही मुस्लिम, जिल्द 1, 290]
