“If my companions are mentioned, then keep quiet.”

✦ Mafhoom-e-Hadith: *“If my companions are mentioned, then keep quiet.”*
•┈┈┈┈••✦✿✦••┈┈┈┈•
► Hadith (English): Narrated by Ibn Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ peace be upon him) said - *"If my companions are mentioned, then keep quiet (means don't talk too much about them), if the stars are mentioned, then keep quiet; and if the divine decree is mentioned, then keep quiet".* [Al Silsila As Sahiha, 3350]
•┈┈┈┈••✦✿✦••┈┈┈┈•
‎حضرت ابن مسود رضی الله انھ سے روایت کی رسول الله محمدﷺ نے فرمایا - *"جب میرے صحابہ کا ذکر ہو، تو خاموش رہا کرو (یعنی ان کی خطاؤں کو نظرانداز کر دیا کرو)، اور جب ستاروں کا ذکر ہو، تب بھی خاموش رہا کرو; اور جب تقدیر کا ذکر ہو، تب بھی خاموش رہا کرو (یعنی ان  کے بارے میں زیادہ بحث نہ کیا کرو)۔"* _سلسلہ صحیحہ، ٣٣٥٠_  

NOTE : This hadith indicates that it is not permissible for a person to speak badly or argue of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and that he should keep quiet about the disputes that occurred among them and also for stars and destiny a person should not argue because Allah is only has the full knowledge about all these things.

✦ Mafhoom-e-Hadith: *“Jab mere sahaba ka zikr ho toh khaamosh raha karo.”*
•┈┈┈┈••✦✿✦••┈┈┈┈•
► Hadith (Roman Urdu): Hazrat Ibn Masood (radi allahu anhu) se rivayat hai ki Rasool-Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) ne farmaya - *“Jab mere sahaba ka zikr ho, toh khaamosh raha karo (yani unki khatao ko nazar andaaz kar diya karo), aur jab sitaaron ka zikr ho, tab bhi khaamosh raha karo; aur jab taqdeer ka zikr ho, tab bhi khaamosh raha karo (yaani in sabke baare mein zyaada behes na kiya karo)”.* [Al Silsila As Sahiha, 3350]

► हदीस (हिंदी): हज़रत इब्न मसूद (रदी अल्लाहू अन्हु) से रिवायत है की रसूल-अल्लाह, मुहम्मद (ﷺ सलअल्लाहू अलैही वसल्लम) ने फरमाया - *“जब मेरे सहाबा का ज़िक्र हो, तो ख़ामोश रहा करो (यानी उनकी ख़ताओ को नज़रअंदाज़ कर दिया करो), और जब सितारों का ज़िक्र हो, तब भी खामोश रहा करो; और जब तक़दीर का ज़िक्र हो, तब भी खामोश रहा करो (यानी इन सबके बारे में ज़्यादा बहस ना किया करो) l”* [अल सिलसिला अस सहिहा, 3350]
